With an MLIS from the University of Texas at Austin and an MA in History from the University of Florida, Chelsea Dinsmore joined the UF libraries in 2004 as the International and State Documents Librarian. She began organizing digital projects within the government documents community, including the creation of regional federal depository Centers of Excellence (COE) for the Panama Canal and the National Recovery Administration collections. Chelsea found her way to the Digital Services Support Department and was named Chair of DSS and Metadata in 2014. With a background in History and Archives, the importance and value of making library resources accessible was always a high priority and plays a key role in her research and is a leading factor in programming decisions. Pivoting toward the challenging task of providing better descriptions for digital materials resulted in many philosophical discussions with colleagues in the cataloging and metadata communities and the move to Resource Description Services in 2022.
